My schedule has me taking Calc I. My question what's the difference between "Calc 1" and "Algebra and Calc with applications to business and econ?" Differences/similarities/difficulty? I will be a business major so I'm wondering if I should just stick with Calc or perhaps contemplate switching to business calc.

Also, is there any reason why on my schedule calc 1 is 1 hour and 45 minutes while the rest of my classes rae only 1 hour 15 min?

if its 1 hr 45 min then usually you will have that class twice a week, while the 1 hr 15 min class you might have 3 times a week. im not sure tho, thats how it works at other schools

sorri i meant the class is 1 hour 50 minutes. anyway, all my classes are twice per week, none of my classes i have three times a week.

Algebra and Calc with applications to business and econ has a recitation so it is 3x a week. While Calc I is 2x a week 40 min longer, no recitation.

wat about the difficulty and course content of each course?

btw, even though the rest of my courses are only twice a week, how come they are only 1 hour and 15 minutes?

I'm sure that normal calc.>>>>>business calc in terms of difficulty. I'm a math & econ. double major, and that's just the purist in me, so I might be biased. I'd go with the standard calc. course to get a better foundation, especially if want a quantitative major in the future like econ. or physics; also it's not like what you learn in there cannot be applied to business concepts.

I'll be in Calc. III, and I know it's going to be a challenge.
