calc II?

does anyone know off hand how often med schools require calc II? i got an A in calc I, but i don't feel it's necessary to take another semester. i talked to my premed advisor and she said really only the ivys expect calc II. i just wanted to make sure this was true.

Harvard. Anyone know of any other med schools?

Hopkins i think. btw, Harvard is one of those schools that'll take a 5 on AP calc BC exam.

the only one i know of is harvard

Nope, not Hopkins.

"Mathematics-Calculus or Statistics, one year (6 to 8 semester hours) Advanced Placement credit for calculus, acceptable to the student's undergraduate college, may be used in fulfillment of one semester of the Hopkins' math requirement."

so are you saying its somewhat essential to take Calc II?

No, I'm saying it's not essential to take Calc II for the vast majority of med schools.

so based on the bryn mawr link, i guess i'm gonna have to take another semester of math sigh well thanks for the feedback.

would med schools care if i take calc I and II at a community college? I already took calc I in my first semester at a community college, then I transfered to the University of maryland for spring 2007, and over the summer i'm taking calc II at the community college near my house b/c its cheaper and closer than taking it at a university.

From what KTD has mentioned previously on these forums, some medical schools will flat-out refuse to accept such credits. You can imagine that the others wouldn't be very happy about it.
