So, I'm seriously considering applying as a junior transfer to USC, Boston College, Boston University, and NYU. But when I looked up the prerequisites for each school's respected business program, all of them with the exception of BU listed calculus. I'll be taking calculus this spring but I'm still worried this might keep me from getting in. I have taken everything else that's required for admission. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Calc is really not that hard, don't sweat it. It's just all related to one concept really - the change of something with respect to another something.

For example, the change of distance with respect to time means the amount of distance traveled per unit of time...dx/dt

Agreed. Calc is simple math, but lots of it. You need to understand the concepts though - WHY things happen, and then the problems become very easy. You can't slack off - be sure to do all the practice problems and ask for help as soon as you need it. You'll be fine, and you might enjoy it a little too =)

Good luck!

As long as you list the course as planned then you should be okay.

I'm nervous about taking Calc as well, because I did pre-calc in 11th, then ap stats in 12th, can't fit calc into my 1st yr of college, so will have to take it as a soph. but it's been yrs since I took pre-calc and I've forgotten everything, and math isn't my best subject (i'm an econ major so it's inevitable). do you think it's a good idea to re-take pre-calc in college? or is that ridiculous...honestly I would feel so incredibly stupid taking pre-calc as a college soph, but if I do poorly in calc, it will kill my chances of transfer.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I feel a lot better now about my chances.
