I'm a sophomore at a CC, will complete 60 credits by the end of this Spring before I transfer, but I don't have the time to take Calculus, which is one of the pre-requisites for the school I am trying to get into. (Rutgers Business), and I will be applying to several other business schools as well. My GPA is a 3.4 but despite my "decent" GPA, I'm still worried that every business school is going to reject me due to the fact I have not taken Calculus, which is a pre-requisite for most Business schools. I am terribly worried. Now many of you may ask, why I don't have the time.

It's because - this is my last semester and in order to take Calculus, I must have taken Pre-Calc, which I haven't even taken yet. So the fact that I did not take Pre-Calc is serving as the barrier, which does not enable me to take Calculus.

So without a choice, I am going to have to apply without having taken Calculus. This is the only pre-requisite I am missing. I've taken every other pre-requisite and am in a nearly perfect situation - just this whole 'haven't taken Calculus' thing extremely worries me.

Will this hurt my chances of getting into any business schools?

I quickly skimmed your post but if you’re not taking it this spring, the majority of schools will deem your application ineligible.

Your best bet is to contact each school and see if you can work out an agreement that you’ll take Pre-Calc this spring and Calc in the summer. However, as I stated above most schools will only allow the spring prior to transfer for you to complete your prerequisites.

Sorry to break it to you, but it will be difficult/impossible to into any good business schools if you haven’t taken calculus, let alone pre calculus. My advice? Take precalculus, and then calculus. Do whatever you have to, to make your schedule work.

No offence, but universities aren’t going to say “Oh, it’s okay, he doesn’t have time. We’ll just let it slide”. There will be a thousand other applicants who HAVE completed the calculus requirement, and they will choose them over you. You have until the end of the spring semester to take the classes. Do your best to take them. Good luck.

^I am going to take Pre-Calc this Spring Semester. But I will be transferring after this semester as originally planned. If summer 2012 grades get sent too, then it wouldn’t be a problem since I can just take Calc in the summer.

Problem is the majority of schools only allow applicants until the last spring prior to transferring to finish all prerequisites. Like I originally stated, if you’re planning to take Pre-Calc in the spring and Calc in the summer I would explain that under additional information. Even then, your chances are slim and will most likely have to re-apply the subsequent year.

It looks like Rutgers undergraduate business only requires precalculus and two of the six prerequisites completed:
[Admissions | Rutgers Business School](Admissions | Rutgers Business School)
[Eligibility Requirements | Rutgers Business School](http://www.business.rutgers.edu/undergrad-new-brunswick/eligibility-requirements)

Presumably, if admitted, you must complete the rest of them in your first semester at Rutgers so that you can declare the major.
