My parents aren't paying, so forget that. What private loan can an 18 year old with no history whatsoever take out? Also, isn't the interest for that massive?

On the net price calculator, "student work" is put on the estimated self help list...I'm confused. I said I'd be willing to work on campus. I'm sorry for asking such a stupid question, but WHEN do you pay for college? I thought a deposit was to be made in May for most schools?

You won’t be able to get a private loan without qualified and willing co-signers.

YOU can only borrow the following amounts:

5500 frosh
6500 soph
7500 jr
7500 sr

Did you apply to any affordable safeties?

You make your deposit in the spring, but then you pay the rest before classes start.

I just noticed in your previous posts that you’re a junior (thank goodness!).

Your GPA is under a 3.5 and you’re guessing that your SAT will be around 1900. And, your parents won’t pay. Are they low income or what?

You’re in that gray area of having parents that won’t pay and stats that aren’t high enough for HUGE merit at many schools. That means that you need a very carefully planned school list…otherwise you’ll have unaffordable schools.

Thanks mom2collegekids.

I found a few affordable safeties, but all still have a few thousand I’m not sure how I’ll pay. I’m now looking at very lowly ranked schools where I can receive a full ride scholarships ex. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (on the bright side, I’ve always wanted to move back to illinois)

@mom2collegekids- Low income…it seems that way now because I wrongly assumed they made A LOT more…I directly asked them what they made, and we’re pretty middle class.
My SAT is probably going to be closer to a 2000, maybe even above that. I’m just getting ready for the worst.

Not assured, but I have a chance. I’m not sure if there’s any semi decent school where I can be 100% sure I’ll get a full ride. If the worst of the worst comes and I can’t afford any school’s, I’ll move out and go to a CC.
