Is there a student loan out there for me?

Hello and good day to you all. I am in a bit of a bind. In order for me to go away to any of the colleges that I was accepted to, I would have to take out a $20,000 loan. My mother is unwilling to take out a PLUS loan, and I am unable to use her as a cosigner because of her outstanding debt. My father is bankrupt, so I don't think I can use him either. I am only 17, and my 18th birthday happens while I am in school. I do not have my own credit history, or a job because I've been attending boarding school. Also, my relatives are unwilling to cosign my loans because of their credit problems. What am I supposed to do? Does anyone know of a student loan that may suit my situation? I think I'm looking for a loan that doesn't require you to be 18, and may accept you with no credit and no work history. It sounds a bit ideal, I know...is there anyone out there that can help me?!

You're insane if you are taking out $20,000 per year. If it's a single payment of $20,000 you should be able to find someplace.

I don't understand why you are sayin' he/she is insane, I know people who are takin' out $40,000 per a year for schools that some people might ask " Why?". To each its own =|. Hey I wish you all the luck and hope you find something, I'm in your same situation. Everythin' will work out =)

You're likely to be paying the loan off for a long time, with a lot of interest. Grad school is where the name matters and where the money is worth spending.

I almost took the bait and was ready to take out about $20,000 per year to attend an Ivy. In the end, I decided graduating from Michigan debt-free (probably in the black) was a lot more appealing.

I think you should look into myrichuncle.com as a loan. I think you can take out a loan without a cosigner. I thought i saw something on there about that, it's at least worth checking out.

I am a she, and thank you so much for not saying that I'm insane...I just need to make it work for this year because I missed the scholarship application deadlines...so yea, I need a loan in order to cover my education...and I do know all the risks and took those entrance interviews online...and to the person who suggested myrichuncle.com...you have to be 18...I already tried...they told me to call back on my birthday which is during the school year
