Are these calculations correct?

Math:

54 - (# wrong/4)

Reading:

67- (# wrong/4)

Writing:

49- (# wrong/4)

If so, according to the BB and http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf
Cant you get about 10 wrong on each section and still get about a 740 across the board?

I feel like I am doing something wrong or missing something...WHAT!

Thats assuming you attempted all the questions. If not its how many you attempted - (#wrong/4) right??

It’s #right - (#wrong/4) = Raw points

Round up if above .5

You definitely can’t get 10 wrong on each question and get 740s across the board… I’ve done a lot of googling and it seems like a lot of the raw->scaled conversions online are totally outdated and wrong. For math usually it’s like -1=780ish, -2=mid700s, -3=low700s, -4=low 700s or 690. For CR it’s more up in the air though, and writing depends on your essay score.

For math:

raw = 54 - ( # of grid-ins wrong ) - 1.25 * ( # of MC wrong )

For CR:

raw = 67 - 1.25 * ( # of MC wrong )

For writing:

raw = 49 - 1.25 * ( # of MC wrong )

(all of the above get rounded to the nearest whole number)

So, 10 wrong on each section (assuming all MC for math) would typically be:

math: 640
CR: 670
writing: 61
