Calculating unweighted GPA?

So my school doesn't calculate UW GPA for us, so I've been trying to do it myself. However, I've gotten different ways to do it, and I'm confused which on is the universal one.

I've been told this one was the right one:
A+ ~ A-: 4.0
B+ ~ B-: 3.0
C+ ~ C-: 2.0
D+ ~ D-: 1.0
F: 0

But on Collegeboard, I found this:
A+ (97-100) = 4.0
A (93-96) = 4.0
A- (90-92) = 3.7

B+ (87-89) = 3.3
B (83-86) = 3.0
B- (80-82) = 2.7

C+ (77-79) = 2.3
C (73-76) = 2.0
C- (70-72) = 1.7

D+ (67-69) = 1.3
D (65-66) = 1.0
E/F (below 65) = 0.0

So which one is right?

There's no "universal" way of calculating GPA. My school does it the second way but we don't have A+'s.

Every school is different.

while every school is different, i've definitely heard of the second way more often.
