I'm applying to Berekely and want to know about the calculator policy. For example, I have a TI83, TI89, and scientific calculators (nonprogrammable). Are calculators allowed in math (calculus III) and engineering (mechanical, electrical, and nuclear) courses? If so, which? Are there any restrictions (such as calculators with CAS, 89, are banned)?

Well it really depends upon the class. Math 53 (Calculus III) has a definite no calculator of any form policy (you really don't need one); as does Math 54.
All the Engineering classes I've been in so far don't mind you using one (in some cases you need one); but they're not too picky about the type of calculator.

when i took my first engineering course freshman year, they told me we could only use a scientific, non-programmable and non-graphing calculator. i forget the specific model, it's blue and from TI. i bought one of course, but have yet to really use it because from all the classes since then, i've been in they haven't cared what calculator type we use.
