In case people were wondering, here is the curve for the 2008 Calc AB exam.

Multiple Choice: (#Correct - #Wrong/4) * 1.2272 + a possible 54 points (9 per free response).

AP Grade (Score Range): 1 (0-20), 2 (21-33), 3 (34-47), 4 (48-64), 5 (65-108)

My personal opinion is that this test was more difficult than the 2008 test (especially the FRQs!), so I’m looking for a more lenient curve as well. My Calc teacher forced everyone to buy this test. Hope this information was helpful :P

i really hope the curve will be around 60~.
if 70+ im screwed…

lmao! I just said that the cutoff term becomes the error, I seriously had no idea how to intergrate my general term lol

MCs are pretty easy except some confusing ones…
FRs are much harder compared to MCs, especially the last one…

I think I got a 5

@sounditout I think you should report the lack of time to College Board, that is not fair and and the stupid proctor should be fired.

Are we allowed to discuss MC now?

i took bc today. i thought it was pretty easy. honestly, the hardest thing for me was tricky weird theorems and things that were ab material that i just forgot about. at first i looked at frq6 and thought crap, but if you knew the general term for cosx it was easy. the error part you didn’t even need to know lagrange. we took the 2008 test as a mock test, this test was SO much easier. or maybe i was just more prepared.

Anybody know how well I can still do if I have about:

7-9 MC questions missed,
Two parts of the last FRQ (#6) left blank, and
A few parts of other FRQs that I’m not sure if I did right?

Could I still potentially get a 5? Thanks for the help. lol Got destroyed by the last question on the FRQ.

For those who took the AB Calc test, how was it to you?

And I think that we should write which version of the Calc test (AB or BC) we took in our replies because this is getting confusing.

@FallenAngel9, same here.

im pretty sure we can get a 5. if the scores are about 60-65.

FallenAngel9.
In the worst case scenario you would have gotten 40.5 points on the mcq alone.
You need ~68 points to get a 5, and if u basically got an average of 5 points on each question you would have gotten a 5.

AB:

MC was really easy.
FRQs were killer! Ugh, I dont think I did well on the no-calc FRQs. There were so many I was unsure of

especially #6. I got 6c fo sho but I had no clue how to do 6a and was unsure about 6b. The question was worded in a way that I just couldn’t process -_-

I took AB Calc and I thought the MC was easy, but the FRQs were tough… I’m hoping for half points on those. Hopefully my MC score will balance out my horrible FRQ score I’m pretty sure I got at least a 4 but it’s going to be super close to a 5 unless they curve it more then last year.

@Pandorahearts and Porcelian

I agree that the AB muliple choice was kinda easy, maybe because I practiced this part the most. I should have timed myself for the FRQ’s when I practiced though. I ran out of time because I was going way too slow intially. And then there were so many distractions! The birds outside were chirping (not much can be done about that). They did a laundry list of intercom announcements during both FRQ’s, we took the test in the library and people kept ignoring the sign on the door and came in talking anyway, and a stupid woman walked right by us and her phone went off. I still think that I would have gotten the same score without the distractions though.

Forgot to mention, I’m AB.

@peter2328 - For the first two questions of the non-calculator section, I’m sure I got 7-9 points on each, so I could afford to get 3-4 points on a couple as well and still hover around a 5 I guess?

Awesome, thanks.

Reading these posts make my self esteem go even lower than the BC exam already made it go today I wish I was as good as that at calc…
i realized that as I was skipping around on the FRQ that I did 5a in 4b…and 5b in 4c…so i had to erase and rewrite. I ended up finishing the rewrites with 15 minutes left and just rushed to write in the steps that I would take to solve the questions and wrote a few numbers in here and there because I heard that you can get points for doing that. Is it safe to cross my fingers and hope that I got points for doing that?

when the scores will be sent?
(never taken ap before)

@webass

Mid-end July. Longest. Wait. Ever. And all that just for a number. They don’t break down your score unless you pay extra.

july 30th webass. The scores are available by phone on July 1, 2010 at a cost of… I think $8. If you are attending college next year and requested them to send the scores to your college then the scores should be available through your college on I think roughly the 15th of July.

BC frq was trickyyyy
