It seems like the majority got 5's on the AP Calc AB test...

What did you guys think about the MC and FRQ?

It seemed pretty easy overall. I don’t know how it compares to previous years’ tests, though.

MC-very easy
FRQ-hard but not impossible

I thought that the MC were pretty fair and that the FRQs were incredibly difficult. Then again, math isn’t my strength, but I’m hoping for a 4 (and expecting a 2).

I thought the MC was extremely easy for the most part. I think only maybe 3 of them even threw me off in the slightest. The FRQs were more of what I was expecting and I know I missed a few points here or there. However, I found that some parts were very similar to past years’ FRQs, which made them much easier. All in all, it was an easier test than I expected while I was preparing for it.

i got a 4 and i remember the MC was really easy but the FRQs were difficult, as many people thought

I got a 5 despite having a few struggles with the multiple choice sections and not doing all parts of the free-response questions. I had no trouble with the subject itself, but I was in a crappy class with an outdated textbook. I realized that too late, so I didn’t get a review book.

MC wasn’t bad, but there were 2 FRQ that made me sad.

I got a 4, but I don’t mind posting here. The multiple choice questions were much easier than those on practice exams given by my teacher and on the 2010 PR book. The free response questions were manageable. I was thrown off on some questions, but I didn’t think it was as hard as my classmates thought.

@Gevanna, the curve was very generous. I think you’ll be surprised.

The multiple choice was very manageable…

Free Response though, to be honest, was a bit maze-like. Despite that, I just busted out everything I had practiced on previous FRQ’s and just put everything down that was asked of me. Anything logical, anything that made sense, I just put it down; I simply wanted to get as many partial credit points as possible and not leave ANYTHING blank.

I think the curve was generous this year - I got a 5 for AP Calc AB (was expecting a 4 with the worse-case scenario)

I think the curve was generous. I guessed on 10 MC for calculator portion because I couldn’t finish in time and had to guess on a couple of FRQs. Made it out with a 5.

Thought the 2010 exam was a lot harder than the practice exams and old CB exams I had practiced with. (I also studied 6 years worth of FRQs, yet I found the 2010 FRQs difficult).

MC was a piece of cake, but the FRQ were definitely hard. However, I got A LOT of credit without answering the whole question correctly.

I got a 5.

Calculus was by far my hardest subject the last two years (pre and AP) not because the class is hard but because it’s personally my weakest subject. I thought the MC part of the AP test was a bit easier than what our teacher gave us but the FR was ok. I got a 3.

Walking out of the test I figured I got about a 39/45 on the multiple choice and completely failed the FRQ, like a 18/54 or something… but I got a 5!!! :D

I’m surprised by these comments. I thought that there were a few difficult MC but that I got almost all of the points on the FRQ.
