TJ has some absolutely crazy kids.
CRAZY.

^Could you describe the BEST kid at TJ? Or a sample profile of a CRAZY kid at TJ?
I really want to see how good those kids are.

USAMO qualifiers

that should be enough

^in one school? you have more than one USAMO qualifie? How many estimated would you say?

I don’t know, probably a lot?

We had 2 USAMO winners. One Senior, and one Sophomore.
Total of 6 USAMO qualifiers.

A freshman last year took multivariable calculus and linear algebra along with AP Physics C.

And there really isn’t a BEST student. Each student excels in their own subjects and strengths.

Also, around 15 students took AP Calculus this year as a freshman.

TJ has ridiculous grade inflation from what I hear. Then again I’m probably just jealous because I live maybe an hour out of TJ’s eligibility area. The Fairfax regional science fair has an ISEF spot dedicated to solely TJ. In the end though, that ends up hurting them.

WHAT THE ****??? AND FRESHMEN TAKING AP PHYSICS C WITH MULTIVARIABLE CALC?
How is this possible? What do you take after freshmen year?

umm concurrent enrollment at a nearby university

probably linear algebra, those who are done with that take real analysis or something

Jeeeezzz…this in just one school?
TJ is much crazier than CC

We also offer numerical analysis, complex variables, differential equations with fourier series, AP statistics, etc.

And yeah. it was 1 freshman with multi/ap physics c…

TJ has tons of science offerings after Physics C too. Intro to organic, neuroscience, and some others. Their course offerings are amazing.

Advanced Optics, and quantum physics are also included.
Those are gonna be my favorites in 2 years… :)

geez it’s called a high school for reason

^that’s what im saying.
Honestly, TJ student body is smarter overall than Cornell student body probably.

Is TJ a private school or a public high school? Also, because its math/science course offerings seem so advanced, does this mean that the English/history/other humanities courses are lacking compared to that of other high schools?

TJ Is a public school. But its sorta special.

And i dont think our english/humanities are lacking. all students are required to take an AP english before graduation, and 99% of juniors take APUSH.

Wow–all students are required to take AP English?

Is it special in the sense that you have underperforming kids (as in dropouts) but also have kids from around the state driving hours to go to school each day (a bit like Troy High School here in SoCal)?

no dropouts, and I think they have an eligibility area of residence

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology

think they’re gonna have dropouts?? lol
