Calculus solutions manuals?

Hey all,

My enemy math is once again taunting me. I barely squeezed by pre-calc, now I am moving on to real calc and I was wondering if anyone knew where a student could purchase an instructors solution manual. No, I am not looking to cheat. But my POS student solutions manual only provides solutions for every OTHER odd problem i.e. 1,5,9,13 etc.

Anyways, the problems I can do, the more practiced I can be. So if anyone has a web site or off line source I would appreciate the help. Feel free to send me a private message if leaving info on the site makes you uneasy.

Thanks in advance.

look at half.com. that was where I bought my complete solutions manual for my engineering courses.

pre calc was actually a lot harder than calculus, for me at least..
and i bought my studnet manual on ebay as well..i had to look a while for it though, didnt know if one existed, but it did.

i hate calc too. Especially when it involves trigonometry.

I tried searching for soln manual w/ every prob too, but no luck. It's more likley to get one for science.

i love calc...trust me, calc is soo much more interesting than pre-calc...I hate pre-calc.

exillo, first find out the ISBN from the publisher's website...then go and search --www.fetchbooks.info-- it gives you a price comparison of companies like ebay, amazon etc

We're sorry, the book can not be found in any store.

Thanks for the tip though indie. I suspect it will be near impossible to find this book for sale through traditional channels because it is an instructors book, and as such probably only provided to schools and not for the public.

i got all As in every calculus course i took.

and NO As in every non-calculus course i took.

need i say more?

also try ebay.

why did you feel the need to state that?

As for the op.

I would recommend that you just go meet with your professor/ta and discuss the questions you don't understand or know.

It's cheaper to buy the full solution manual [plus those things are hard to find.

exillio: great math website

what calc book are you using?

Thanks for the responses.

Hnbui,
That is something I will have to do, but this is not always an option especially when doing homework. What I like to do is sit down for a few hours and just go through as many problems as I can. And besides my CC has no TA's.

Fei,
Thanks for the link, I will be sure to check it out.

Robbew,
This is the book:
http://he-cda.wiley.com/WileyCDA/HigherEdTitle.rdr?productCd=047147245X

hnbui, i tried to prove the point that calculus aren't hard.

Blackdream,

I really don't see how your message accomplished that.

If anything, you posts proves the inverse is true because obviously you aren't doing well in non-math subjects. So it would be like me telling you I have received an A in ALL my other subjects EXCEPT calc, so they must not be challenging subjects. ;)

exillo, is this your second calc class?

Yes, my first was pre-calc. And I have no idea why it is referred to as pre-calc when really it covers calc concepts. It's more life foundational or beginner's calc. Maybe some math major can clear that up. ;)

I tell you one thing i have learned for sure..my kids will know math, because not knowing it is a real epidemic in the U.S. and it can kick your ass later on.

really important to do the HW in HS and middle school even if ur techers are not demending.

I learned to do calc, one needs to be an expert at arthmetic, know all the algebra tricks, and know trignometry.

I cruised thru all my HS math classes, barely did any HW, now i wish i did. I did start off w/ calc, but i realized that i needed that expirience of doing probs for calc.

Search for the book on amazon.com I have found soloution manuals for almost all my books in pdf format. The way the seller gets these is he got access to a teachers account and ordered all of the answer guides from the publishers. Price is reasonable at $14 a piece.

sorry about the confusion guys. I meant to say "non-calculus" MATH CLASSES.

justroln,

I am not sure if I follow. You found a way to buy PDF's through Amazon? I found the text book, but no links to PDF solutions guides. And if I found one, $14 is a total deal.

Here is the Amazon link:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/047147245X/qid=1112675867/sr=8-2/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/102-8863503-5876113?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

Also I think part of the problem in finding an available solutions manual is that this book is new for 2005.
