Calendar??

<p>Hi! Since I am an international student, there's much planning I should do before attending MIT...
I would really like to understand how much time could I spend every year in my country.. For instance I believe there are 2 months of holidays in summer and some holidays during christmas... Is it compulsory to attend IAP during January, or could I simply stay home until the end of the month? (my birthday is in january...!)</p>

<p>I am already getting pretty nostalgic, so what do you think is the greatest amount of time I can aim to spend with my family and bf every year??</p>

<p>no you dont have to be at MIT during IAP, but it is a nice relaxing time to do fun things. Do what you want--even if it is somewhere else. You'll probably be home 1 1/2 in the winter and 3 months in the summer. 1/3 of the year isnt that bad hm?</p>
