CAlifornia Chances?????????????

Hey
My cumlilitive(sp) is around 3.3-3.5 unweighted. (+- grade system)
1 honor junior year-english
3 AP and 1 honor next year(senior)
PSAT 184
SAT 1670 (iono what happned)
M 620
W 600
C450

EC
president culture club
track, jv
football, v

how are my chances for like UCs and claremotns?

thanks

If you SAT stays the same, all UCs will be reaches except for UC Riverside.

All the Claremonts will be reaches.

im going to retake it. I am confident i can get at least 1800. I got 1800-2000 on all practice tests at elite and pric review and 184 on psat. iono, maybe sat day was just a bad day...

i want to go into premed too...

Ok. Let's say you score a 1900 on the SAT when you retake it. The Claremonts will still be all reaches, but you can also try for UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, and perhaps UC Davis.

i go to troy aswell...if that makes a difference..

Ok. That's a lot different. I'm a Harriton student, so our science olympiad teams are rivals, lol...

Troy is a magnet school, right? The "standard" classes are like honors at a regular school?

Its like Webb. Is Webb a magnent school? there both the same type. lol but i think so.

That's a lot different. Then, let's say your weighted GPA would be around 4.3-4.5...

If you get those SATs up, all the UCs will be matches to safeties except for UCLA and Berkeley.

Pomona, Claremont McKenna, and Harvey Mudd will still be out of reach, but Scripps and Pitzer will be right in the range.

No no no. lol my gpa for first semester this year( junior) weighted was liek 3.8. im only takin 1 honors this year. i think i bombed my second semester finals. so i have like 2 A and 3 Bs......

jondoe89:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Super Reach
UCSD: Reach
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Slight Reach
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Match

yeah i am. but my college counciler said if i do well on SAT and get good grades. i should apply to ALL UC. Rice. CMC. Pitzer. Carnigie mellon. USC. NYU. Occidental. etcc....?

Scripps would be more of a reach - SATs are way too low, GPA is pretty low as well. But I'm making the assumption that you are male, so it's moot anyway.

SAT will be in 1800 range when i take them in the fall

even 600/600/600 is far below CMCs 25th percentile.

I agree with flopsy above 100%.

UCSC/UCR/UCM are your only matches. The rest are reaches.

I agree w/ flopsy and Calcruzer. Are you in Troy Tech (the magnet school) or regular Troy (not magnet school)? Academic rep may help a bit but lack of many APs/honors classes and very bad CR score on the SAT will hurt you a lot.

troy the prep school in cali.

im taking 3 AP and 1 honor senior year too.

my CR score WILL be at least 5-600

Troy's not a prep school, it's a public school...Troy Tech is the program within Troy Public High that is the science magnet school, where I think you have to apply/test in...I don't go there, but know a fair amount of people who went and even know this. Are you sure you go here?

http://www.troyhigh.com/ttib/tt_mission.htm

Predicting SAT scores is not reliable. Many people at my school (not as good as Troy) take 5-6 APs senior year. How many did you take before? The real question is how much you challenged yourself with the options you were given.
