Is money an issue? What about any religious affiliation? Pt. Loma Nazarene has a gorgeous campus and I imagine there are more than a few skateboarders there. It’s not cheap, though.

sbjdorlo, Money is an issue but we are going to try our best and see what we can afford for DS.
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to respond.

Another newbie question, on the college application form, do students get to enter their first choice major, followed by second/third choice? Or does the form only allow for one top choice major and if you dont get it, you lose your chance to get admission in that college?

Regarding intended major for freshman applicants, different schools and different divisions (e.g. College of Letters and Science, College of Engineering) may do it differently.

Some may admit freshman into a major, and may or may not consider a backup major. Changing major later may require applying to change, as well a completing prerequisites for the new major.

Others may admit all freshmen as undeclared, or undeclared within the division, to declare a major later after completing the prerequisites. Sometimes, popular majors require applying to declare.

Still others may admit both declared freshmen and undeclared freshmen.

You need to check each school and division to see what applies to that school and division, since it is not always obviously announced.
