California Community College Question

I am applying for admission at a California Community College, but there's a chance that I won't be able to take a specific course that I need to take. In other words, I might be admitted to the CC but not take any courses there ever. Do I have to report this on my UC application when I am ready to start filling it out?

I am trying to take a course at another CC other than my main CC but I am afraid that I wont be able to get into the class in time before it fills up. I am also concerned that this will cause problems for me during my UC application process. Should I be concerned?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

ahahahah. really???

yes, if you do that; you will only get into UCM.

^^Thanks for nothing :D

so…wait…what?
enrolling into a community college is TAKING A CLASS. so if you dont TAKE A CLASS at this new CC then whats the problem? you dont report a school that you took NO CLASSES at.

anywho, be more clear or something if i got your q wrong, but that looks like a bunch of mumbo jumbo that doesnt make sense.

If I understand you correctly, you are full time student at one CCC and are trying to take one course offered by another CCC but are afraid you will not be able to get into this class and are worried about how the UCs you are applying for transfer to will view this.

If you told the UCs in your transfer application that you would be taking this course and it is part of your admission contract to a UC then not taking the class could require an explanation on your part. If the UCs know nothing about your plans to take this class and they are not requiring you to take it as a condition of your transfer, if you never register for the class I do not see why you would have to report anything about it to the UCs. The only exception might be if you applied to and officially enrolled in the other CCC, even if you did end up never taking a class there you might have to disclose you were a student at that school even though you did not take any classes.

wait, so I enrolled at my current cc and I am taking 13 units this fall. I also applied to a different cc but never took the placement test or register for any classes. So I have to cancel my admission for the second cc?

whaT?^ who said that? haha this line of q’s makes no sense

if you take 0 classes at a different CC, they won’t care. heck i don’t think even harvard would care. They care about your performance and what you’re doing. Heck it might even be viewed in a slightly positive light(you’re covering your bases)

noone will look at a school you never actually attended, period

@Lemaitre1 & @Leuzinger2010: We share the same concerns. I wanted to know how a UC would view my application if they see I was admitted at a community college in which I did not enroll any classes. Being that this particular class is almost full at the other community college (meaning the other college I am not enrolled in yet), I was just concerned that it would cause some sort of hassle during the application process (hassle free is the way to be).

I am taking 18 units at my main community college (where the majority of my units were taken) and I need three more units at this other community college (where I am not admitted or enrolled in any courses).

oh and Leuzinger2010, your questions and concerns completely make sense. No question is stupid. I am just going to refer to a counselor to make sure of this matter. It’s no big deal. I just want to make sure.

Thanks for your help everyone
