California State School for undergrad

I'm thinking about attending a california state school for my undergrad school because my grades are not good enough to get into a top school right now. I was wondering if I will still be able to get into one of the big 4 accounting firms or other popular business focus such as consulting while attending a average undergrad school. One of the schools I was looking at is Sonoma state which is suppose to have one of the highest amount of students who get their cpa's. I know that this doesn't translate into a good school, but I am basically asking will I still be able to get recruited by a good firm while attending not the best undergrad school?

I've read various posts regarding that top firms only visits the top schools to recruit students.

I think it was Sakky's post.

i've heard that the big 4 accounting firms are moving towards recruiting exclusively at top schools now. i read somewhere on CC a while ago how alumni from cal state northridge and cal state fullerton who were working in big 4 accounting firms were mad cuz the firms' national headquarters told them to only recruit at UCLA and USC (and not any of the cal states). but i think they still might take a standout recruit from a cal state.

Yeah this is what I have been reading unfortunately and is a shame for the kids who can only get into cal states. I'm pretty sure i am going to go to santa barbara city college which has the highest transfer rate out of the ccc's and then apply to haas, marshall, stern and anderson most likely. Hopefully in 2 years I will get accepted into atleast one of them if i can get stellar grades

Also I just read that Sbcc has a taa agreement with usc and ucla, but I'm not sure if this applies to the business programs. Has anyone done this?

Anderson is exclusively graduate. UCLA does not have undergraduate business programs.

yeah kinda weird though that they still recruit there pretty heavily

actually i thought norcalguy10 was referring to anderson at UC Riverside (not UCLA), because UCR Anderson offers undergraduate business.

Actually, the big 4 accounting firms recruit heavily at UCLA. They primarily look for BizEcon grads who have a minor in Accounting. BizEcon is granted by the econ department but students must take approximately 1/3 of their undergraduate classes toward their major from the Anderson school. The minor in Accounting is granted by Anderson.

If you tutor me, and if I score at least a 750 on the GMAT, I will give you $10,000. This is no joke.

Greetings!!!

I need you to come tutor me for the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test). I am located in Tampa, Florida. My telephone number is: (813) 451-****. Basically, what I need is a very good GMAT instructor who has taken the real test no more than a year ago with a score of 720 or above.

If this is you, then read on…

I will pay you tutor me. This is how it works: You first tutor me for free until I take the real GMAT. If I score above a 650, you get $1,000 for all your trouble. But, if I score above a 700, you get $5,000. Finally, here’s the best part: If I score above a 750, you get $10,000. I am talking about cash, pure cash, coming out of my pocket for you to tutor me.

If you are excited so far, then read on…

I agree to pay you to come to Tampa, Florida. I agree to pay for the hotel and flight accommodations. I agree to pick you up in a limo, or my brand new 2005 Camry (your choice). You will then be escorted to your hotel room for preparation to tutor me the very next day. You will be served three meals a day. You will have breakfast, lunch, and dinner with me at really good fancy restaurants. No, I am not talking about McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, but ten times better than that. You will enjoy for the next few weeks the hotel stay, and the food that I pay.

What happens after you tutor me…

When I see my unofficial score for the GMAT, I will then decide how much to pay you in cold cash. Then, you will be flying back home to tell all your friends about how much money you have made by tutoring me.

Have a nice weekend!

Thank you!!!

Email me if interested.

P.S. If instead of going through the trouble to tutor me, if you take the GMAT for me and score a 650, 700, or 750, I will pay four times the amount mentioned above. This means you will get $4,000 for scoring a 650, $20,000 for scoring a 700, and $40,000 for scoring a 750. This is a quick way to make money for your helpfulness!

Email me if interested in this instead.

Thanks.
