I looked at my old high school ID card and saw a number but it wasn't ten digits so i left it out. It says optional but what do you guys think about it? put it in? omit it?

It should be 6 digits.

I put it in...i just went to my highschool and got it. Btw it is 10 digits. They use it to track you and keep a tab on its population of students!!! Big Brother lifts is ugly head!

Really? 10 digits?

I graduated in 2006 from a high school in Ventura County and my SSID is only 6 digits.

hmm... i went the same year too. Arnold probably counts people differently than is normal.

Mine is 7 digits... You think it will affect me negatively if i don't put it in? They didn't have this on the app 2 years ago...

I would put it in because it shows that you have lived in California for most of your life and you attended a CA high school.

I know they pull your transcripts from high school too, so I would definitely put it down cause if you don't, it might look like you have something to hide.

I talked to the UCI rep and she said that you need it.

Mine is 10 digits...btw it isn't on my ID card (that just has my school ID number) but it is on my transcript.

The application states its optional so it SHOULDN'T affect admittance but now I'm not so sure... if thats what the UCI rep said.

LOL are u joking me? your highschool ID is optional at best, no way it has any bearing whatsoever on ur acceptance (or rejection) as a junior transfer.

ya i think she is wrong....but i think our consensus is that you dont need it, but if you have it put it.

I don't even have one. I graduated high school back in the day (98) so when I saw the SSID I called my old high school and they said SSID wasn't even around back then.

Leaving it blank ftw!

I left my high school in 2005, and when I asked them for the SSID they said they didn't get them until the summer after I left, and only for the students who were still enrolled. So I hope it doesn't matter, since I don't have one.

It's optional! If you can't find it it's ok.

For more information regarding this number please see Statewide Student Identifier (SSID) - Longitudinal Education Data Systems (CA Dept of Education) . It is not used in the admissions review but should be included if one was issued to you in high school. Please contact the registrar at your high school to see if you have a number.

I dont know what my SSID is and I dont know how to get it… I dont have my High school stuff and search engines tell me to come here…

you can generally find it on your high school transcript…

I’m sure I had one, but I didn’t put it because I don’t remember it.

im pretty sure we dont need it…its not like were applying from HS
