Which dorms are you guys picking for junior year?

Unless I get really lucky, I'll probably end up disappointed no matter where I end up next year. Oh well.

do Lafayette Street. i love my room. i’m in an -09 A room and it has a huge walk-in closet, high ceilings and a ton of room in the A bedroom. but the common room is small.

how long does it take to walk from Lafayette to Union Square (where the Palladium is)

About 30-40 minutes. But you can take the NYU bus to 715 Broadway and it’s a 5-10 minute walk from there.

I’m in Carlyle this year and I really love the location. :)

my son is in Coral. I’m concerned about getting a low cost housing this year since as a rising junior he will have low priority.

simple way to bump up your priority is to room with the current freshmen next year…

u guys are luck I want Palladium, but I’ll be just a freshie.

yeah I know about the priority averaging if you go in with someone with a better priority. too bad he didn’t know anyone willing to commit to going for low cost housing.

I’m looking at paying btw 8700 and over 13K for housing next year. How’s that for a price spread…

God help me if I end up at like Alumni because I have such a low priority. Price tag=$17.5k, ouch.

At least my last name is in the first four letters of the alphabet, which means I get to pick first among all the juniors.

But since I have junior standing, maybe they’ll let me pick as a senior.

really, your last name has an impact in your time assignment within your priority???

I would have to withdraw my son from school if I had to pay 17K for a room, seriously

wrong. your priority is not your last name. it’s just a random lottery pick. it’s within your academic year (number of credits) and then within the random system. it is NOT your last name.

and if you’re an incoming junior, your choices are lafayette and 26th street.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve always had a high credit seniority (I have 80 or so credits as a soph+18 credits this semester) and my last name starts with a C. And I’ve always been one of the first in my class to pick anything, namely classes and housing.

Even when my number of credits=my graduating class ('11). Eww. Lafayette and 26th. Gross. Maybe I’ll go live in the basement at Bobst.

too bad water street’s gone. My brother stayed there spring semester his junior year and this year.
