Calling on all those who REJECTED Midd for Cal Berkeley

Come on all of you...i know there are a lot of you out there! We're all Bears at heart!

no one midd is better for undergraduate

I would pick Middlebury over Cal Berkeley

lol...wow-can't say i've ever heard of Middlebury? Have fun bragging about that name.

Well, calidude, at Berkeley you'll hopefully learn that the world is full of ignorant people. Enjoy those lectures with 400 students, and say hello to some of those foreign grad students with broken English who will TA your classes!

calidude - And that's why you can go to Berkeley(Actually I doubt you could get in, but for the sake of argument), and I'll go to Middlebury. Better grad placement, learn more, contact with profs., and so on. I'll take experience over prestige.

"Prestige" is a relative term, too. Middlebury is by all accounts a more prestigious school, that is, if you've heard of it. And Calidude, no one on the east coast has really heard of Pomona or CMC, but I'm sure you know that both of those schools, if I may generalize, are "better" than Berkeley. What's the point of this thread anyway?

Oof, and I just saw this post from ab_med

"Berkeley is WAYYYYYYY more elite, presitgious, and awesome than Middlebury anyways. They have 9 Nobel Laureates. How many does middlebury have? ZERO. Plus, it's a liberals paradise ( finally leaving the DAMN conservatives in Southern California and going to meet some decent people)."

This has got to be one of the most ignorant posts I've come across on CC. I'm surprised you got into either school. With that said, both are great schools.

hahaha all this made me laugh. I rejected Berkeley for Middlebury btw!

Whew and I was worried I’d be the only one. I ended up choosing Midd over Berkeley, even though now I feel like I should’ve chosen Berkeley. Anyone worried about the total isolation? Berkeley just seems a lot more fun…
