Hey, I reckon I suck at Maths...I'm not utterly crap, but mediocre enough to feel that Maths hates me as much as I detest it...Taking the Math 2c again in January - hoping for 750+ (I'll be praying and cramming like mad for a week before)....

Enough abt me, anyone else make thier Maths teachers cry?

I once hated math back in 7-8th grade. I had horrible grades D's and at best B's. But I like math now. It's because I had to struggle with math in 9th grade for over 10 hours. More exposure to problems made me think about it chronically. I used to sit 2-3 hours on some problems. However, if you do that and get the answer right, you feel this elation that I can't say in words. I know this is really dull advice but expose yourself to math a lot. Although I was fortunate that I could spend so much time doing math in 9th grade since I was in Korea, and I didn't have much other things to do, it may be extremely hard here. Expose yourself to problems. I'm a junior right now.

was supposed to fail but teacher was nice. middle school

junior now in ap calc ab. getting an A. a's in math ever since that D-.

i dunno if i'm mathematically impaired. i know i didn't try at all in algebra 1. so many i'm not that bad at it as it shows now. however, i do feel like i'm very weak in the basics. i often do calc problems wrong b/c of mistakes in algebra 1. if i applied myself during all middleschool as i do now. who knows where i'd be =D.

unless you've consistently tried hard for a couple of years with poor results AND have already tried to bridge that gap of a poor foundation. you aren't INHERENTLY bad at math. and let me assure you, most people aren't inherently worse than others at math.

he is right. i used to hate math too in 6th grade. then i went to a math course that my parents forced me to take. and voilla- i ranked 3rd for my grade and level of math in that worldwide courses. now, i quit the program, cause it was crap. i knew alot about math already. so start doing PRACTICE PROBLEMS. thats wat helped me. MATH IS BASED ON SKILL AND PRACTICE. buy or get from library the BARRON'S book. its the best book 4 math. also get the 10 reals, which is essentioal 43 math. 19 days is enough 4 any1, even the mathematically impared. try the books and get 1 700 or above.

I have a history of getting the worst math teachers. Also, I haven't had a math class in two full semesters, and I'm definitely feeling the effects. On SAT I, I'm stuck in the 650-700 range, but hopefully that will change.

Does anyone but me get annoyed when people spell out "maths" instead of "math"? I don't know about anyone else, but it makes me sick. "Maths IIC", etc. Math. Just say Math. It's easy.

It depends on where you are from - I lived in Scotland for a summer with my father when I was 13, and everyone refered to mathematics as "maths".

I have to confess - I think I may not actually be Mathematically Impaired. I think I'm just lazy.....And have been cursed with a string of crappy Math/Maths teachers.

As it happens, I count money well enough...
