CalSO '07...is it really THAT IMPORTANT????

I was wrong not because I had my facts mistaken but, rather, because of a bad phrasing of my statements and the fact that I was simply stating my own personal circumstance in a bad way.

This is my first sentence:

"well, in so cal it's a 1 day thing plus its at El Camino College. hard to figure how the dorms would be included in calso at ElCo. "

As I had mentioned before, I did sign up for SoCal CalSO.Right?? So for me, dorms are out of the question since ElCo has NO dorms. It's a CC.

Then I followed with a flawed statement of why I didn't intend to go to CalSO at Cal:

"but no, if you go to calso at cal, its 2 days though, and you will have to provide your own transportation and housing for the stay. Thats why I didnt want to go at all at first since it would be like a $1000 round trip all included for my mom and I. I clearly cant afford that!!!"

What I did wrong, and I apologize for that is NOT stating that my mother and I DID NOT intend to stay at the Units. She really was against it and had mentioned the need to get a room at a nearby hotel. Also, the trip including transportation and CalSO fees doesn't add up to $1000 if you plan on staying in the dorms. Plus, instead of the YOU statement I should have used an I statement.

2 plane tickets, round-trip = $250 , flying Southwest from LAX
2 CalSO fees for Cal = $600 , student and parent

subtotal = $850

1 night stay at a San Francisco/Oakland/Berkeley Hotel = between $75-$150

total = $1000 , somewhere near this

Once again, I failed to state that I wouldn't be staying in the Units for the night.

i chose not to go.

wow I must be like one of the only 10 people not going...
I figured if I have to pay another 400-600 for me and a parent to fly over there, it's just not worth it.
But then if I can't get into some of the classes that I planned on attending then my 3-year plan would be jeopardized.
