caltech dorms?

I basically decided that Caltech was my dream school, but I forgot to check the dorms while I was there, and I heard they were really small and cramped. Is this true? How many people share a room on average? How many people share how many bathrooms? I'd just like to know these things, I don't think they're going to change my opinion of Caltech.

Thanks!

I wouldn't describe most of the rooms as cramped, even if they're not terribly spacious. In the South Hovses the people:bathrooms ratio is pretty good, can't speak to elsewhere.

The size of a Caltech single (namely my single, which I think is less than the median size for singles) is somewhere around 10' x 12', based on the guess that my armspan is 6'. Doubles are much larger, but it'd be inconvenient for me to go measure one right now. I'd say that 1.5-1.75 people share a room on average.

Relative to a Harvard dorm room, these rooms are tiny; I do, however, find my room to be perfectly adequate for my needs. (note: Harvard's rooms are luxuriously huge.)

In my house I think something like 50-60 people share 8 bathrooms. As halfthelaw said, this people:bathrooms ratio is good, and results in little to no inconvenience.

Hmm, I think it might be confusing to generalize about Harvard dorm rooms. There is no standard size. Some are huge and some are quite small. Basically the same is true at Caltech.

Hmm...at UCLA, a triple is 10x12...Depressing.
