How is it for international undergraduate students? Are there financial aid? How many international students get in every year?

I’m interested too. I’m applying from Hong Kong.

Well, Caltech made it very clear that financial aid is provided, but applying will harm your chance.

i’m applying from the uk, no one stated that it would harm my chances.

[Caltech Undergraduate Admissions: International Students](http://www.admissions.caltech.edu/applying/international)

Third last paragraph: However, admission is NOT need blind for these applicants, as it is for United States citizens and permanent residents.

I am taking a look to all american colleges that can offer me a good undergraduation in computer science.

Does the grant for graduate students come under the title of financial aid?

It’s a stipend, which is different from financial aid. Your stipend is taxable since you’ll be providing a service to the university. Depending on your country of origin you may or may not have to pay various taxes. You can have US taxes, your home country’s taxes, some discounted rate, or a mix of the above.

edoardo: caltech website states that 10-12% of each freshman class are internationals, and approximately 230 freshmen enroll each year. Hence, it means that there are 23 to 28 internationals that enroll each year. As for the no. of internationals caltech accepts each year, i guess it should be around 70, since caltech accepts around 650 applicants every year.

Caltech offers full ride for those quailified USAMO. US citizens only

This is false. Caltech no longer offers any merit aid, only need-based financial aid (regardless of whether you are US or international).
