Hello,

S wants to major in bio, chem. or chem. engg and is absolutely sold on Caltech. Loves the Research opportunity and the small school size where he feels he will thrive. Loves the Honor code system and the concept of collaboration. I had a few questions about Caltech and would appreciate if someone can clarify. S wants to take the pre-med path.

Knowing how difficult the core is, will S fit in if he is not tech savvy?
How difficult is the core?
What is the average GPA of the kids in general and in the above fields, in particular?
How successful are the kids who take the pre-med path – with reference to their placement in good med schools?
What is the average GPA of the kids who successfully graduated in to the med schools?
Is there a list of med schools that the kids graduate to?
How big a part does the grade deflation play in admission to med school?
Has any one been rejected from med school because of the grades?
What is the average MCAT score for the students in the pre-med track?
Has anybody abandoned the idea of med school due to their grades?
Are there any prep classes provided for preparing for the MCAT?
How long does it take to graduate for bio, chem or chem engg. major?

If you have additional information on this subject matter, please, please, please let me know.
Greatly appreciate input from anybody who is going/has gone through these options or know of anybody who is going/gone through these options.

Thank you very much for the information.
