Only a few days left guys; about 4-5 days left, regardless of where you’re from.
I made the thread, so a few encouraging words here:
I just want to say congratulations regardless of the decision, and want to reassure y’all of the gifts of the hardwork every app has done to get where they are now, and take the daring decision to apply. Many schools dont even let kids apply to top schools without proving themselves in school/off-school beforehand (I came from one such school).
I applaud all of you for the effort taken, the things learned, and all the ups and downs throughout this journey of about/almost 4 years.
Be calm, be happy, and take everything head on with the best attitude, as you have learnt throughout these years.
There’s a right place for everyone, and everyone will find it at the end of this journey. It will be a place you’ll love and be proud of.
Thanks. Hope this helps anyone anxious/nervous out there about this end-path of college admissions and its weird and long process.
I dont follow caltech anywhere but on linkedin, and they havent officially announced the date there. Their website which I linked here previously shows no change.
Anyone follows caltech on insta/twitt./snap. (yes some colleges gave an adcom snap (eg. harvard), crazily enough) and such? Please confirm if the date’s confirmed there.
Mostly (almost 100%) its 3/9 3-4ish PM PST
Someone here called the adcom to which they said ‘dec.s released soon’. If you want you can call/email them about the same.
It’s been the same date and/or time for a long time i think. It’ll mostly be then.
I called today, and they said “very soon.” Also, when I asked them if they will notify us when the notification date is before they release the decisions, they said no, which leads me to believe that the decisions have to come out tomorrow. Otherwise, if the decisions were to come out later, the person on the phone would be uncertain due to the option of notifying us beforehand still existing… I’ve been following this thread daily for weeks, reading all of the little fun comments you leave me to entertain myself with, and now im glad i can contribute something as well. Yay.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know what GPA is good for Caltech?
I mean for all other top schools, a 3.8+ is great, but thats because their class size is bigger than Caltech’s.
Due to Caltech’s small class size and exclusivity, I’m thinking that their bar is a bit higher? I may be wrong, but I’d like to hear others opinions on this.
Their CDS says that about a 3.8 is okay-good, and they value Standardized Test Scores more, but I’m told the CDS’s aren’t 100% accurate in all aspects of Data in there.
