Anyone have any thoughts about CSW?

I have 2 friends whose children went to CSW—both had incredible difficulty in the public schools and found a nice home at this school. Sounds like it has quite an artsy, alternative feel to the school–not a school for jocks.

I only know a tiny bit about it. It’s a rather unusual school - not in the mold of the usual NE prep school. Strong in arts/music/dance, flexibile in scheduling, with an unusual module system. Liberal rather than traditional in many ways. The science labs were very poor until recently, but they just built a new science and art center.
I only know of one kid going there - very happy so far. A smart child, with a strong interest in theatre.
It’s a place that really requires a visit to get a feel for.

If you’re looking for a school with a large percentage of boarders, then CSOW is not for you- its a great school, but only 25% of the school’s population boards.

My son is a junior at Cambridge School of Weston. It is a fantastic school. Except for basketball and soccer the school does not emphasize athletics. The boys basketball program is exceptional. Academics and the Visual and Performing Arts are very strong at this school. Students from this school go on to Ivy League, NESCAC and other competitive colleges.

Sorry to sound like a noob, but what is NESCAC?

NESCAC=New England Small College Athletic Conference: Tufts, Colby, Bowdoin, Bates, Hamilton, Trinity, Wesleyan, Conn College, Amherst, Williams
(I may have missed one)
