Hey everyone, Im looking between two schools, one being Umich.

So my question for everyone is what do you think of the campus? Im not sure I completely like the whole city integrated feel... Is there places just to hang out and throw a football around and stuff??

And whats the campus life like? Are there alot of things for you to do?

You should join the Residential College, it is virtually a liberal arts college within the University of Michigan. You will literally be living in a small community catering to you.

The health scholars program is extremely personalized and will certainly boost you into a top medical school if you perform well. Especially if you perform well relative to your classmates.

Thanks Recharge, your information has been really helpful!!

Flipper that is unnecessary. I clearly am making threads talking about different topics because I am trying to make a decision between 2 schools I think are good. Xavier, being a small school, would clearly provide more personalization, it just comes with the territory. Its not that I see them as “soooo much better” its just they have different pros and cons.

It’s like your trying to prove Xavier>Michigan.

“Would that say, make the program more personalized? More like xavier’s very active advising and help which leads to there 80% acceptance rate?”

It seems to me you’re either convinced Xavier is for you, or your just ■■■■■■■■ on Michigan. Whenever someone suggests Michigan to you, you automatically question them and start posting stats on Xavier…

Im definately not trying to prove xavier is better. And I thank you for looking at my posts.

I know Michigan is a great school but I am just trying to compare many aspects because I really like both and am trying to make a good, informed decision.

you make college as small as you want it to be. As others have mentioned, residential colleges is one of the ways you can make your college experience more personalized.

There are always ways to make big state colleges feel small, and then make it feel bigger if you want to. You can’t do that with small colleges. You hate a small school? well then your stuck with it. Of course, there are going to be lecture halls with 300 people in it, but so what? Its just core underclasswork. Things obviously get better as one becomes more specific with his/her major.

Umich can be intimidating because of its size, but after you find your own community, you’ll absolutely love it. I speak from experience. I’ve met so many great people here; umich has so many great people. The resources of being a large school make it so much easier to get involved and find opportunities. I couldn’t have picked a better school!
