My daughter has been accepted to NJIT in the Digital Design program at the School of Architecture & Design. She got a very generous merit scholarship offer of $18,640/yr. We are OOS so this brings the price down considerably. However, my concern is about campus safety and Newark, in general. We went to the Open House last March and the area near the school seemed sketchy. There was a snowstorm coming so we didn’t spend as much time there as we wanted.
Can anyone who goes to the school, a parent w/ a child who goes there comment on this? One of my older daughter’s friends is from NJ and she said Newark was not a good place. She’s not from Newark but somewhere else in NJ.
What about this Digital Design program that she has been accepted to? I was impressed w/ the presentation at the School and the tour in the dept afterwards. One of the professors spent quite a bit of time w/ us and we learned quite a lot. She’s also applying to RIT to their 3D Design program. If she had to choose between the two, I would suggest RIT. Any thoughts?
