Crowslayer, did you happen to see the gun the suspect was brandishing?

i bet u he was influenced by american horror story. Last week’s episode’s intro was a very gruesome school shooting.

Either way the cop was alpha.

Gee… I had no idea until 8pm when my roommate told me about it.
Glad to know that no one got killed.

For once I’m actually grateful for Cal’s technology…WarnMe worked! Whooo

wow, crow, glad you’re alright.

did you see the gun shots being fired? i was always curious because i keep hearing that from 4-10 shots were fired. but if the police were that close, then did they all just miss or did they actually shoot him 4-10 times?

WarnMe kicked in 30 min after news spread on twitter … so much for being on top of things
now I trust twitter more… 30 min is more than enough for one person to walk from one side of the campus to the other side … who knows what might happen in real emergency
?

HOLY CRAP CROW. ■■■■. I WOULD HAVE CRAPPED MY PANTS. Man… un-****en-believable.

@Campanilee, seriously? 30 minutes?

Wow. The only tiny little ounce of respect I had for Cal technology is now…totally gone. Oh, and CalMail is still sucking major ****, as well as Rescomp AND Airbears connections.

Hey now LemonCat, that’s not fair. You totally forgot about bspace, the pinnacle of Cal’s technological failure. The same system that signs you out even though you tell it you want to remain logged on.

It’s kind of sad, but my community college had way better software/technology than cal does.

Also I wouldn’t rely too much on alert systems. Most colleges have them, but it does generally take a bit of time to sent out the alerts.

^^ double fail, the both of ya.

you left out our beloved TeleFAIL system!

(bringing to you fine times, ie-crashing during your appointment)

Sad it was a student.

Crow, I was in the room with you lol. Don’t worry, I was scared too.

woah! what are the chances? haha 2 CCers?

The information is still trickling in, but this is starting to look a lot like a “suicide-by-cop” incident. In any case, my thoughts are with the family of this young man, as well as the officers involved. This tragedy will undoubtedly haunt them forever.

Oh man… this is so sad. I really hoped that he wasn’t a student.
I feel so sorry for his parents.

It’s confirmed that he is a Haas undergrad student, my year too. I saw the guy around a few times but never met him or anything.

If you were to ask me, I’d say that this was a misunderstanding and the cops shot him out of safety of the students in the lab. If u check out his linkedin… he use to be a security guard before going back to school… so that could explain the gun. A lot of times, cops write reports in their favor so that they don’t upset the public. I don’t blame the cops because what else can u do in that position - some guy with a gun in a classroom full of students. But I don’t know, this is just my guess because I really can’t imagine any undergrad student would want to mean harm to other students.

33 year old undergraduate student?
