campus visits

I think I'm just about to enroll to ND.
I can't exactly find a reason not to go there. The thing is, I've never been there. It's hard to find time and the plane tickets are kind of pricey. Is it bad to go to a college I've never visited? I think I can adjust.

I don't think I will visit ND this spring. Don't know if I can find the time to do it, and I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble/money if I'm going to enroll at ND anyways.

However, I did visit in the summer. But I think you'll do fine, too.

Almost no one leaves ND unimpressed, I don't think that the visit would make you want to do anything but send in that deposit just a bit faster. I do have several friends that came to ND before they saw it and all of them are very happy with the decision. I think if you know that ND is right, then go for it, because the campus visit isn't going to change your mind.

I disagree. I think that visiting a college is very important before deciding to attend. For example, awhile ago I was completely in love with WashU and would have definitely attended had I not visited and had I not found out about Notre Dame. When I visited, I realized that even though the school sounded great on paper it was not the place for me. I am 99% sure you would love Notre Dame, so don't worry too much if it really is impossible for you to visit, but I think you should try to make it happen.

You guys should really visit before enrolling at ND, especially if you're from the cities. ND is quite isolated and there's a small chance that you might hate it there.

The $500(roughly) that it would cost you to visit is insignificant compared to the 46k you'll spend in just your first year at ND.

Is there anybody there from a big city? What did you think?

I am from Denver, if that counts. It really hasn't been a big adjustment to me, but I am a pretty easy going guy. South Bend has what I need and Chicago is just an hour and a half away if I really need a big city, so I think it is pretty ideal honestly, but that is just me.

Also, I understand what you are saying emswim, but what I will say is that I have never had anyone come to ND while visiting thinking they wanted to go here and then change their mind. I am sure it happens, but usually it is the other way around from my experience.

Check that out beforehand, if you can't visit. I could go into explaining it, but you should just watch it. I watched it right after I visited, and I think it gives a really, really great perspective on the school as a whole.

I think this will help some with the adjustment to school and with telling you what ND is like but I am not sure if it will help replace a visit...definately worth checking out though and it was a great find Kevdude! I only was able to get through the first three videos and then for some reason they wouldn't play, but I think the first three may help some.

Just saw video 8 and I think it helps quite a bit. May be worth checking out if you can't see any other video.

thanks kevdude for the site.
it was really helpful.

That is an amazing set of videos. wow. This explains even more of what I love about ND.
