What are the average stats for freshman applicants who are accepted into the Campuswide Honors Program? If I'm thinking about double majoring and if I get into CHP, would I have to write an honors thesis for both subject areas? Would a double major interfere with completion of the three cores? Students who are currently in CHP: Do you think that being in CHP significantly limits your time for socializing/work, or is it a relatively smooth balance?

Thank you.

Average stats are something like 4.1 GPA & 2100 SAT but not everyone with those stats gets into CHP. Your personal statement has a lot to do with whether or not you get in. If you double major, you only have to produce a thesis for one subject area. If you start planning early, the core courses should not interfere too much but you may have to take a lot of units per quarter or take summer courses. I’m in CHP and I don’t think it limits you at all, you’d be perfectly capable of having a decent social life and/or having a job. Good luck!
