Can an Essay Make you or break you?

Can an essay really give you the advantage despite your poor SAT score?

Is it possible to get accepted based just on your essay?

well, i doubt your essay alone will get you in
but it definitely would be a huge plus if it’s a stunning essay

On the flip side- is it possible to get rejected just because of your essay?

An essay most often "makes you or breaks you’ once you have the stats at schools that only have room for a fraction of the qualified applicants.

It’s kids aiming at ivies rushing to essay consultants around here, not ones aiming for ASU.

Well of course not, ASU doesn’t require an essay-- at least not in-state. I applied last week, and nothin’. XD

I would say it IS possible to get rejected because of your essay. You could be the perfect applicant, and still say something horribly racist/mean/cruel/stupid/etc and get rejected for it.

yes…

Your grades, rank, and scores are obviously more important, but the essay deffinitely gives the college a better understanding of who you are. I dont really think it can make or break you though.
