Hi, I'm new to this forum and I just assumed that this forum is most helpful in choosing/help choosing colleges for me.
So here's my situation:
My older brother goes to NYU Stern and I wish to go to NYU CAS. The only problem is that my SAT scores are horrible; I still have about year to get it up to a 2100 at least because I'm going to be an incoming Junior this year.

Since my SAT score is horrible as of now, and if it just goes up to 2000, would I be able to get in if my brother goes to NYU already and has almost a perfect GPA and is taking good classes?
I have some EC, but I will have a lot more in the next 2 years. (going to continue Track and Field, all three seasons; key club; a lot of volunteer hours)
I am still afraid if that doesn't work because I am forced to be categorized as "Asian" and it would hurt my chances :(

Does anyone know if he can help my chances of getting in?
Btw, does it help if only one person in my family is supporting 7 individuals with a job as a taxi driver?
(my older brother does work, but it's to help pay for college)

Thanks :/
