Can anyone chance for an American student wishing to go to a Canadian University?

Hello,

Do not know if anyone would be able chance for this but here it is.

So my predicted admission average courses ( the average that is accumulated with the perquisite courses the university requires):

Precalculus: B (84%) / currently: B+ (89%)
Chemistry: B (80%) / currently: B (83%)

12th grade courses:

AP Calc AB
AP Physics C
AP Literature
AP Civics and Economics

Hoping to get above 90%, A-'s, next year.

Most schools in Canada just look solely at grades and many love international students. UBC did change this year, and it did add a small supplementary. However, if you have high grades, it’s basically in at every school save for the more specialized programs.

I’ll say if you can get
1800+SAT (even lower) and a B+ average, you can get it all those on the list. Since you are from US, most will require some AP classes for engineering. Im guessing AP Calc, and AP Physics should be good, though you may want to check on each website. Some may require like AP Chem or something, (I don’t know why)

Thank you. Yes, I had checked and UBC and U of T needed AP Chem. Also, what seemed a plus about their admission process is that they look at the average of the pre-requisites needed for a certain major (like engineering), which would be more than half of my senior year courses and two courses from my junior year. Do they overlook any other grades? Because when I called them up they did not mention that no matter how many times I asked. So no?

Well, in Canada, most universities look at your top 5 or 6 courses in grade 12 (senior) year for admissions. I’m not sure how they evaluate you, but you will probably get in. Just send in your whole transcript.

in canada, you don’t need to send SAT. if you have all over 86% (which is A in canada), you’ll do fine. trust me

^actually, all US applicants do need to send in SAT/ACT scores…

86% all of high school career or just the certain courses they look at?
