Do you live in China or are you just an Asian-American?

since you are competing demographically with very very promising candidates and have mediocre scores/gpa, it’s definitely a reach. but there’s no harm in trying! write good essays.

I am a Chinese who is studying in America. I am not an American citizen though.

It is not a reach really. Those scores are about normal for Emory. The SAT may actually put her a little higher than the mean. The GPA vs. last incoming class is at least higher than the bottom quartile (which was 3.69). However, the distribution of the 2090 kind of matters. Like if it was 3 near 700 scores or one closer to 5 and others 8 or something like that.

I agree with the above poster. You have a good chance. I would think above 50%. I also think that Asians who are non-US citizens have somewhat of an admissions advantage over Asian-Americans because of financial aid issues.
