Can anyone explain the process of admissions of Oxford/Cambridge?

sorry abhishiv, that is correct. What I meant is that they are not necessary to be written if you aren't going to school in the UK. I don't know why I said that you could only write them there. It was a Friday.

The deadline for international applications for Oxbridge has been moved forward to 20th September the preceeding year. 15th October deadline for UK and EU students.

You can only apply to Oxford or Cambridge, not both.

They hold interviews in Vancouver and New York for North American applicants. Oxford occassionally offer phone interviews (maybe if you live in Hawaii?) but I haven't heard of Cambridge doing this. These interviews are much earlier than those for UK/EU students. About October time.

You don't need to do A-levels if you are outside the UK, and it would be too late to start them now as an A-level grade includes course work done in class over a 2 year period.

If you think you are smart enough to go to Oxford or Cambridge, you should also be smart enough to look up the application process on their web-sites.

cupcake your location says Oxford - what college are you at there?

Nevermind.

Linacre, a graduate only college.

[liangshengtm] For non-EU students (Canadians included, I guess), the 2007-08 Cambridge tuition fees are 9,054 pounds for Band 1 (most humanities majors + mathematics); 11,862 pounds for Band 2 (engineering + most natural sciences); and 21,954 pounds for the clinical part of the Medicine course. In addition, as an international student, you will also have to pay a fee to your residential college (between 3,200 and 3,750 pounds a year, depending on the college). Finally, personal living expenses at Cambridge are estimated to be around 7,000 pounds/year. Adding the figures up, you should be prepared as an international student to spend over 20,000 pounds/year for a Cambridge degree (note that financial aid for non-EU students is very scarce/limited, so you should not count on that).

PS1: In recent times, the pound has been trading in the range 1.85 - 1.90 US dollars/ 1 pound.

PS2: Keep in mind that , irrespective of your intended major, you will have to apply to a specific college at Cambridge, as the individual colleges (as opposed to the university or university departments) are the ones actually responsible for admitting or rejecting students. If you don't select a college in your application, the university will forward your papers to a college of its choosing.
I just realized that I cant make the interview....too far away
