Can anyone help assess my chances

Everyone here is way better than me but I figured why not.

oos
race- black
Overall gpa- 3.75 UW top 20% of 300
Sat 1- 1240/1840 (pretty low but got private tutor over summer)
Sat 11- none yet

AP- Statistics, Calc AB, Psychology, Enviro, French
rest of my classes are honors so my schedule is probably rather rigorous

E.C.'s
Black Belt Martial Artist (8 years)
Football (Varsity 11,12)
Over 50 hours volunteer at library
Mentor club (VP 11, P 12)
DECA
National Honor Society
Other rather unimportant ones

No substatial awards except I had story about myself in a major paper for Martial Arts and I went to the VA Boys State

I should have fairly decent essays and very good recommendations.

Chances at:
UVA
U of M
Wake Forest
NYU
Miami O
Virginia Tech
JMU
Howard
Michigan State

im pretty sure youre gonna be fine, but you need to make sure youre essays are GOOOOOOD(:

you are black, you can get in anywhere

word, anyone else, criticism is invited

ummmm.....bump

Your ECS arent spectacular nor distinguished, your SAT scores are less than mediocre, and you still haven't taken SAT IIs

NYU/UVA - unlikely/very high reach

rest of them - high reach/reach

definitely raise those scores. ecs are too late to really embellish right now. your ethnicity will help though

So.....Tech, JMU, Miami O, Howard, and Michigan State are all high reach/reach for me?

uhhh.....hello anyone out there?

dude...ur black...any college will take you

you look pretty good for the bottom of the list but I dunno about NYU and up

ECs look weak and test scores could DEFINITELY improve, however, I wouldn't rule out U Va and UM just yet. If you can score highly on those, a combination of high scores, average/low GPA, and fluffy ECs (and URM status), could probably get you in. Aim for 2150+/700+ at the very least.

that sounds reasonible, thats around what I figured for SAT scores
