Can anyone help clarify how Community College -> UC GPAs work? Really worried

So as this page http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/transfer/preparing-admission/transfer-gpa/index.html states, A- counts as 3.7, B+ as 3.3 and so on and so forth… My friend told me it does not apply to community colleges because our grades only show as flat A’s and B’s, is this true? On my transcript my grades show up as flat As even when i earned an A- in a few of them…

ALSO, I talked to one of the guidance counselors today and he told me that GPA after you apply, so say you apply fall 2017, the gpa you earn that Fall, and the next spring of Spring 2018 will be added on to your cumulative transfer gpa… Is this true? Because I was under the impression only the grades prior counted and because you send in applications so early.

I’m assuming if you have an A on your transcript then thats what the UCs will see instead of an A-.

The last fall semester grades will be included towards the GPA they review for your application when you update your grades around the end of January. Spring grades won’t be counted but you’ll have to maintain a certain GPA if you are accepted.
