How much can you pay each year? Home State? Intended major? School size? Rural/Urban/Suburban? Stay close to home or go out of state?
Try the SuperMatch feature on this website to help get your list started. Affordability will be the easiest way to eliminate many schools on your list.
Finance isn’t one of my considerations for college list.
I’m from Georgia and is attending to major in either neuroscience, pre-med or pharmacology .
I’ve tried SuperMatch and they all seem like reach schools to me.
Is it a consideration for your parents?
Then it will be a consideration for you unless you want to be one of those students posting here next year that you got into your dream school but are not able to pay for it.
Thanks for your advice.
My parents are willing to help me with about $40k a year.
If you plan to go to Medical School/Pharmacy, you want to keep your undergrad costs as low as possible, so you need to know what your EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) which will be the minimum you will have to pay along with what your parents are willing to pay. There is no reason to apply schools that are unaffordable. It is a waste of your time and money.
So… It would be better for me to go with safety schools if they offer me more financial support.
It will depend upon what kind of financial situation you have. I would run the Net Price calculators (NPC) for each school of interest. This will give you an idea what you may have to pay and if these schools are affordable. A safety school may not necessarily be the least expensive school so I would start making a list from the bottom up. Find a few safety schools that you are willing to attend and are affordable with minimum debt and go from there. Your in-state schools would be the first to consider.
You need to give posters some guidelines in what type of schools you are looking at, how much you can pay and what kind of school location/environment you are looking for as an undergrad. Hopefully once you post this information, CC posters can give you some suggestions, but you need to do some research first.
