Can anyone help me, PLEASE?

OK. I'm about to enter my second year in college, which is New York City College Of Technology. The major I enrolled in was Computer Engineering(4years), but after a few months of speaking with the upper level students and Profs. I realized that the major I was enrolled in was actually Computer Engineering Technology(4Years). I've tried searching the internet for the differences between the two, and I found that Engineers are the ones who designs the product while Engineering technology and the ones who builds the prototypes/tests etc. In other words Engineering Technology majors are basically ITs while Engineers are the ones who make the decisions.

My main question is there really a difference between the two (Engineering vs Engineering technology)? Because the courses I'm taking are really challenging (calculus 1,2,3 Physics 1,2 electrical circuits) just to name a few and I don't want to invest all my efforts and time just to receive a mediocre degree/ job position.

I'm not excellent in math but I do very well in my courses(mostly Bs). Also I love Hands on but I also like being in charge and making decisions... Help is really appreciated, Thanks in advance! :)

Anyone???

City Tech. You don’t get BS. Your degree is basically technician kind if I am not wrong…
The main difference is really the math and the applications.
ET is less calculus-based mathematic intensive than engineering programs.
There are other differences. You call the ET guys the middleman of engineering and technician.
I don’t really have very good 1st hand information about City Tech’s program (I am a CCNY student, and some of my friends go to City Tech). So I really don’t know how much hands-on work do you get to do in your study.

Unlike engineering, in theory, ET curriculum is more hands-on rather than book licker.
But I think engineering will give you more room for growth and if you are thinking about getting a graduate degree you probably want engineering right now.
Think about CCNY.

PS I am also CpE
