Can anyone help me with this AP Lit Essay... please!?!?

I have an essay assignment, and I am not really good at English (not my first language).

I'd really appreciate if someone can help me with outlining my essay.

Prompt is (same as AP Lit Free Response of 2003 Question 3)

Select a novel or play in which a tragic figure functions as an instrument of the suffering of others. Then write an essay in which you explain how the suffering brought upon others by that figure contributes to the tragic vision of the work as whole.

I am limited to use the HAMLET by Shakespeare

First of all, I am not sure if I understand the prompt correctly.

If anyone can give me an idea of how to write one... (I read the Hamlet, understanding it well) I'd really appreciate it!!

This is my outline version... it's a bit choppy, hope it helps somewhat

Recall Hamlet the character- his personality traits, quirks, etc.

Recall the characters he has ties/conflicts with
(these first two are just to help remember the play- or really, whatever work you choose for your essay at testing time)

Recall each tie/conflict. Make sure you detail how each conflict leads to someone's suffering.

Think of the tragic vision of the play- its messages, its overall themes. What is it saying and how is it saying it? This as your THESIS.

Use the examples you listed in #3 to back up your thesis in #4. This is your body.
