<p>The problem is that grad students teach Calc 1 and 2. If you’ve placed out of that, there usually are only a few sections of Calc 3, if even more than 1 section. Either the professor will have reviews on either ratemyprofessor or thecourseforum (both .com) or they’re a new grad student. The math dept rotates who teaches intro courses.</p>
<p>Are you in the CLAS or the SEAS? With a 5 in BC, you could take either MATH231 Calculus III if you’re in the arts and sciences school or APMA212 Multivariable Calculus in the engineering school. I don’t know about the former, but for the latter, the teachers are Mohajeri, Thurneck, and Fulgham. Based on ratings on thecourseforum, they seem to be comparable; no one is far better than the other. A current/past student might have more input though.</p>
