Can dorming students leave for the night?

I have friends who will be living in apartments off campus, but I will be dorming on campus. Am I allowed to leave the dorms for the night and stay at their house? This is specifically geared toward SUNY Albany students, but any general information on the policy would be helpful. Thank you.

Lol of course. They don’t take roll every night to see who is in and who isn’t.

Bed checks in dorms ending back in early 70’s at the latest. People who are guests in dorms need to sign in and register at most colleges these days, as security staff want to know who is IN the building, but they don’t care who ISN’T in the dorm.

However, let your roommate/hallmates know your plans.

Thanks to all of you for the help! :)
