I'm a junior right now taking AP and honors classes but I'm getting B's in them and my culmulative will probably go down to about 3.4 at the lowest or 3.6 somethin at the highest.. If I get good grades in senior will I be able to get accpeted to good schools?

Remember that the admissions people will only see first semester grades, so there is a limit to the good they can do.

Not a huge difference since the majority of your high school GPA will already be calculated. Focus on bringing up your grades for junior year since its not over yet.

If you apply RD they might see your first-semester senior-year grades.

I genuinely believe that my senior year grades helped me in RD admissions - my first semester senior year grades brought my GPA up considerably - as well as my rank. I went up .05 points altogether which brought my rank up 10 spots (and my class rank percentage from top 5% to 2%) – depending on what classes you can take your senior year and how hard you work, I’d say you can see a pretty decent improvement in your GPA, even if its only one semester. Also - continuously doing well your senior year will be of a great help in the event that you’re wait listed at a school and you’re petitioning for you’re a acceptance.

Absolutely important. A good senior year itself won’t get you into your top choice, but it’ll make a difference when colleges look at your transcript. You have to keep them up or else your admissions offer could be rescinded.

What if I were to get all A’s in my senior years, which I have never done so before in my high school career… Will that help make up for the bad junior grades?

No. (almost) Nothing can make up for bad junior grades.

What if I were to explain in my college application why I did so poorly in junior year? I experiences some family deaths and illnesses.
