I am checking one of the university admission applications.
One of the forms is "Secondary School Report" form. It is for applicant's high school counselor to write down applicant's SAT/ACT, AP scores and test dates and other academic records. But if sudents chose not to send scores to their high school when taking ACT, will HS somewhat still have the test scores? Also, students are under the protections of score choice. Neither ACT, nor Collegeboard send scores to anyone without students permission. I don't understand some college admission request these scores from HS counselor?

Talk to your HS counselor, and ask to not include the scores on the HS report. It is that simple.

Note, however, that some high schools automatically put all scores on the transcript. You can ask to have these scores removed before the transcript is mailed, but some parents report meeting resistance from the high school guidance staff when they make such requests. So, with application deadlines still many months away, this is a good time to check on your high school’s policy. If you find out that the test scores DO routinely get put on the transcripts, and you don’t want them there, it’s wise to start making waves ASAP, not waiting until the crunch season next fall.

Note also that having the scores on the transcript is not always a bad thing. Many colleges will accept these scores as official, in lieu of the score reports that you may otherwise have to pay for.

It is true that the testing authorities don’t send scores without permission. However, by asking a guidance counselor to fill out the form, you are giving permission for him/her to respond to any and all questions on it.

If you don’t want them to give out the scores, tell them that IN WRITING as an exception to the permission granted. Don’t be surprised, though, if they decline to fill out the report for you.
