Can I afford to drop at week 8?

<p>Hey Guys. I need your help. I’m currently taking 12 units. I messed up on one of my non impacted class and might end up getting a D. Can I afford to drop this class and finish the quarter with 8 units? How will this affect financial aid and housing? I’m a transfer by the way.</p>

<p>I'm pretty sure the financial aid office checks your units durin week 3 so you should be fine if you drop. If you're in engineering though, it will be difficult to drop a course after week 4 because you need to get a petition approved as opposed to just turning in a drop form with your professor's signature for all others.</p>

<p>Just out of curiosity, can a professor refuse to sign a drop slip?</p>
