Can I afford to go back to school?

I was wondering, but would anyone happen to have advice regarding financial aid for me?

I finished my first year of college at Kent State University in NE Ohio as a German major and took the fall semester off to work in Germany as an aupair. I got sick and wound up coming back about ten months ahead of schedule, and my parents seperated in the meanwhile. I currently live with my dad and have no contact/financial support of any kind from my mother. My 16 year-old sister lives with her.

My dad makes about 30k a year after taxes and I estimated my FAFSA results using an online calculator and it said my expected EFC is $1380.

I'd like to go back to KSU and live on campus, but can't afford the tuition as-is now. I've had trouble finding work and I'm getting ready to try and defer my existing loans from last year that amount to roughly 6k.

Kent State cost around 22k living on campus per year, and I'm looking at a few other schools in Ohio--Ohio University's one of them and runs around 18k living on campus.

I'm hoping to go back and major in Japanese or Korean as well as the German--I've only got three courses/ nine credit hours until I'm finished with the major requirements for my 4 year degree in German, but still have around 70 Liberal education credit hours to finish so that I can graduate--I don't want to sit around just taking LER credits when I could tack on a few extra credit hours per semester and add a second major.

Would anyone happen to know of scholarships for people looking to learn needed foreign languages, or ways that I can manage to head back to school without massive loans?

Any help would be appreciated
