This might be a really dumb question... but I've been accepted and I haven't really looked up anything about USC. Is it too late to apply for scholarships? I'm gonna end up going to UCLA if SC doesn't give me any money cuz it's soo expensive..

lol ^ the scholarship deadline is dec 1 last year…so if u really want scholarship, u can try some outside ones. UCLA is not gonna be cheaper for me lol since i am OOS

Featherz,

Did your family apply for financial aid? Please check the financial aid thread by alamemeom. There may be some ideas for you.

Your family can write the financial aid office and ask if there are any scholarships available with a later application date. All scholarships are competitive, but some have narrow requirements. You may be one of the few that fit those requirements.

Keep in mind that UCLA students who are not Regents Scholars have been complaining in articles and the Daily Bruin about rising fees and inability to find open classes. It is taking five years for many students to graduate. Add up 4 years at SC and 5 years at UCLA. This is not “SC talk”. You can pull up the articles on the internet.

There is a thread here about students who did all sorts of creative things to pay for their education. It can be done.

Good point. I don’t think they’re offering any more scholarships from what I saw online, so I’ll be going to UCLA. I also like LA’s campus more.

Featherz,

The financial aid packages will be released around April 1. If your family applied why don’t you wait and compare the costs? There are many scholarships still to be announced. Some students are hearing this week about the Topping and Town & Gown scholarships as they have been invited to interview for those.
